The New Diversity Leadership Academy is a resource for building diversity leadership capabilities. Coca-Cola partnered with Roosevelt Thomas’ American Institute for Managing Diversity (AIMD) to create a program for committed Atlanta leaders. Now AIMD broadens program offerings.

Leaders play a special role in supporting the success of diversity initiatives. The Diversity Leadership Academy provides cutting edge leadership development for champions of diversity from all parts of the business. It also has a unique program for under-served leaders from not-for-profit sectors like religious organizations, educational institutions, government agencies, and other nonprofit organizations.

The Atlanta Community Fellows Model
Leaders of religious organizations, educational institutions, government units, law enforcement agencies, non-profits as well as for-profits, come together in a program that includes classroom instruction, case studies, group assignments, and experiential learning, all focused on developing diversity leadership competencies.

The Corporate Executive Series
The success of the community fellows program resulted in demand from corporate participants for a program targeting and addressing the needs of corporate leaders. Specifically, a program that meets the needs of executives who sit on diversity councils and leaders of line operations or business units that are champions for diversity in their organizations.

The Associations and Affiliates Program
As participants in the Fellows program have taken their experience back into their work environments there has been growing demand for DLA services. Some of the demand comes from organizations or groups that historically have not been the focus of diversity management skill building. One broad category of such groups is “Associations,” or “Affiliated Organizations.”

Future Programs
Two additional programs are under development at DLA. One is Eleraffe University, a youth leadership development program. The other is the Diversity Summits program which intends to respond to communities-of-interest that are seeking to create an awareness experience for their members.
